      More than 5 billion people in the world do not have full access to safe, affordable and timely surgical care, especially in lower-middle-income countries (Lancet Global Health, 2015). 90% of the population of sub-Saharan Africa has access to roughly one operating theatre per 100 000people. The few theatres that do exist have limited capacity to provide safe surgical care.For instance, up to 70% lack pulse oximetry, an anesthetic monitoring standard. Whereas, there are approximately 5% of thepopulation in Australasia, high-income North America, and western Europe lack access tosurgery. A recent World HealthOrganization (WHO) study found that more than 90% of deaths frominjuries occur in poor countries. Despite such a surgical imbalance around the world, surgery is still “theneglected stepchild of global health”. No global funding organizationfocuses specifically on the provision of surgical care, and none of themajor donors are willing to support and acknowledge surgery as animperative part of global public health.
      There are more than 14 million people in the world suffer annually from cancer and more than 8 million deaths of this disease.  It is predicted that there will be approximately 30 million new cancer patients which cause 20 million deaths in which two third are in developing countries. In Vietnam, there are around 170000 to 180000 new cases of cancer each year leading to 80000 to 90000 deaths. In Hai Phong city, the quantity of new cancer patients is estimated around 4000 to 5000, nevertheless, only 60% to 70% of them were treated in hospital.
      In Vietnam, there are increasingly achievement and development in medicine in general and in surgery in particular, reaching the better outcome as in developed countries. The government, ministry of health and doctors have been trying their best to performcomplex procedures such as transplantation and robot assisted surgery. Besides, the citizen have opportunities to be cured by specialists. Nonetheless, there are not any studies on surgery access conducted in Vietnam.
      As the reason mentioned above, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy together with French National Academic of Medicine and Association of Exotic Diseases holds international conference on “Surgery Access in tropical areas and Updates in Oncology” in Hai Phong city (Vietnam) from 8^th to 10^th November 2017 (Website: http://hpmu.edu.vn/surgery_oncology2017). This is an occasion for researchers, managers, surgeons and oncologist have opportunities to discuss on public aspect of surgery and to updates advances in oncology.
      The conference is expected to welcome about 500 participants including  local and international delegates and we will select about 100 abstracts from health centers throughout Vietnam and from Asian, European, American and Asian countries. This is a good opportunity to talk about access to health care as well as the cancer situation in Vietnam.

  Value and duration of sponsorship:
1- Benefits of sponsorships will be agreed in the sponsorship contract with the sponsorship packages as below.
2- The sponsorship contract will take efect immediately after the contract is signed between the sponsor and the Conference Organizing Committee.
3- Thedeadlineforsponsorshipcommitmentandconfirmationofparticipationis Oct 15th, 2017.
4- Sponsorships includes cash and/or in-kind, gifts, meals, etc.
5- The sponsorship contract value must be transferred into the Organizing Committees bank account no later than Oct 30, 2016.
