Why in Haiphong

- Haiphong University of Medicine and Pharmacy has extensive relationships with partner organizations, universities and research institutions all over the world. In 2016, Prof. Pham Van Thuc- President of Haiphong University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Assoc. Prof. Pham Minh Khue, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Public Health and Head of International Relations Department have worked with the French Societé de Pathologie Exotique and the Frence Académie Nationale de Médecine to elaborate the theme of "Surgery access in tropical areas and Updates on Oncology" that needs to be addressed in an international congress in Haiphong in 2017, in collaboration with the Vietnam Assoction of Oncology.

Several conference rooms of Haiphong University of Medicine and Pharmacy completed in 2016. Good hotels near the university also meet the requirements of international visitors. Moreover, Haiphong is the third largest city in Viet Nam and one of the principal Ports and Trade Centers of Viet Nam. It is around 102 km from Ha Noi to the East. It borders Quang Ninh to the North, Hai Duong Province to the West, and Thai Binh Province to the South.
- Transportation: Haiphong is located at the junction of two National Highways: Route 5, leading west to Hanoi and Route 10, leading south to Nam Dinh and onward to connect with National Route 1A at Ninh Binh Highway 356 passes west–east from the Route 5/10 junction through Haiphong's city center all the way to the coast. A connecting road from route 5 to route 18 links Haiphong with Quang Ninh. Besides, Air travel is also convenient with Cat Bi international Airport with flights daily to Ha Noi Capital, Ho Chi Minh City, to Da Nang with 5 flights a week.
- Tourism: Haiphong city has famous sightseeings. The international delegates to Haiphong will have the opportunity to visit Cat Ba, Ha Long Bay and Hanoi during their days. Haiphong has many temples, pagodas, mausoleums and shrines such as ancient Du Hang Pagoda, Nghe Temple, Hang Kenh Communal House... Haiphong is on tourism route: Hanoi - Haiphong – Ha Long Bay. Do Son Beach, located 20km from Haiphong, is a sand strip for bathing. Tourist can also visit Cat Ba National Park, and continue to Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh Province).The most special attractive site for tourist is Cat Ba Island. There are ferries from Haiphong to Cat Ba Island several times a day. The hydrofoil boats run between Hai Phong - Cat Ba and Hai Phong - Hon Gai.
